Apple revealed its highly-anticipated smart speaker yesterday at WWDC. The device is being dubbed the HomePod, and is equipped with the best audio quality of any smart speaker on the market. In fact, the speaker uses spatial awareness to sense its location in a room and automatically adjust the audio. Similar to other smart speakers, the HomePod is powered by Siri who works as a personal assistant that can send messages, relay sports, news, and weather updates. Philip Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing said, ‘Apple reinvented portable music with iPod and now HomePod will reinvent how we enjoy music wirelessly throughout our homes. HomePod packs powerful speaker technology, Siri intelligence and wireless access to the entire Apple Music library into a beautiful speaker that is less than 7 inches tall, can rock most any room with distortion free music and be a helpful assistant around your home.’
Apple‘s HomePod launches this December in the United States in White and a Space Grey color option for $349 USD.
