It looks like rap mogul Jay-Z is looking to expand his empire. According to reports, Jay-Z has went ahead with plans to launch his own sports representation company dubbed Roc Nation Sports. The agency will be formed with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) sites sports business analyst Darren Rovell, who broke the news via Twitter. The full-service sports management company has picked up their first client, New York Yankees second basemen Robinson Cano who was quoted saying, ‘At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors both on and off the field. I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates.’ It will be interesting to see who signs up next.
