ReachNow is no longer just a car-sharing service. The BMW-owned company is now a ride-hailing service too, putting it in direct competition with Lyft and Uber. Today the company launched a new app that combines car sharing and ride hailing while using a shared fleet of cars. Currently only available in Seattle, the app claims to be a one-stop shop for users looking for the best way to get from Point A to Point B while receiving the BMW brand experience. Using a mix of BMW i3 electric cars, BMW 3 Series, BMW X1 SAV, MINI Clubman, MINI 2-door hardtop and MINI 4-door hardtop models, the company plans to expand into other U.S. cities in the near future. ReachNow is waiving the sign-up fee for new members who want to try the ride-hailing service. Ride pricing has a $3.24 minimum, with rides costing $2.40 per mile plus $0.40 a minute. Stay tuned for developments in the coming months!
